Philosopher by training, Phinith is currently UNESCO Regional Advisor for the Social and Human Sciences, UNESCO Bangkok Office. His fields of expertise are Ethics and Philosophy, Human Rights and Social Inclusion, and Cultural Studies. Since he has joined UNESCO in 2007 (HQ, Rabat Office, and Harare Office), he has championed collective work around Strategic Reflections, Technical Advice to Governments, UN Global and Regional Programmatic Implementation, Partnership Building, and Dialogues with Civil Organizations. Prior to joining UNESCO, he worked as a Research Fellow at the Ecole Française d’Extrême-Orient and the National Library in Vientiane, Laos.
